The capital of Gran Canaria has numerous spaces of this type to enjoy the views of the city from a different perspective. We show you which are the best terraces in Las Palmas to enjoy this island also a few meters above the ground.

What are rooftops

In recent years, the installation of rooftop bars has become a very popular phenomenon. And that is exactly what defines the rooftop concept. In some buildings in the city, establishments of this type have been set up on the highest part of the building to create entertainment venues.

It is very common to find them in hotels throughout the city and there are of different categories. In some you can enjoy a cocktail or a few beers while others are even equipped with a swimming pool or offer musical performances.

What are the best rooftops in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria?

The names for these places are very varied. The Fundéu prefers the use of rooftop bar, although as we know that English is cool, many people still opt for rooftops or even rocktop. "Rock" refers to being at the top, in this case of the building, and "roof" to being able to walk around that space.

Alis Rooftop

One of the great rooftopsin Las Palmas is Alis, right on the rooftop of the Santa Catalina, A Royal Hideaway Resort . It is a very exclusive place that can be accessed by both hotel guests and the general public. Here guests can enjoy a complete menu of classic cocktails and others created by the bartenders.

Alis Rooftop offers views over the bay of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and Doramas Park. It opens its doors from 18:00 h and the opening hours extend until midnight.

SkyBar Hotel Lumm

A good option to talk about rooftop bars is the skybar, as is the case with The Hotel Lumm. From this terrace in Las Palmas you can contemplate views of the bay of the city, the neighborhood of La Isleta and the Muelle de La Luz and Las Palmas.

The place offers a chillout atmosphere equipped with swimming pools and an extensive menu of cocktails, mixed drinks, coffees and infusions, complemented by appetizers and cold snacks. An elegant and discreet space that opens its doors from 4:30 p.m. until 1: 00 a.m. on weekends and until 11:00 p.m. on weekdays.

La Terraza de Malteses

Another rooftop bar located in a hotel. In this case, the establishment is the Boutique Hotel Cordial Malteses and on its rooftop is La Terraza de Malteses. From its highest point, the Gabinete Literario and the Plaza de Cairasco can be seen in detail.

La Terraza de Malteses has a wide selection of cocktails with a very special one, the Espíritu de Malteses. It also offers kitchen service. The restaurant is open from Tuesday to Saturday from 4:00 pm. It closes at midnight between Tuesday and Thursday and Friday and Saturday at 1:00 h.

Catalina's Clothesline

The name of this rooftop is curious, because it derives from a high space to tend and also refers to the park of Santa Catalina. We are talking about the rooftop of the Hotel Bed and Chicwhich is a rooftop bar that offers cocktails, cocktails and casual snacks. The place is animated with deep house music from the 80s and 90s.

It opens its doors from 17:00 h, in an uninterrupted schedule that extends until 2:00 h, with the exception of Sunday, which closes at 23:00 h. Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays are closed.

TAJ Rooftop and Lounge

The highest area of the Hotel Silken SAAJ Las Palmas is occupied by this rooftop. Located in the heart of the city and overlooking Alcaravaneras Beach, Puerto de la Luz and Las Palmas, the rooftop is an urban oasis to relax.

The bar has a full service kitchen with local and quality products, cocktailmenu , wines and premium drinks. It also offers recurring musical sessions with DJs, rumba and bolero nights.

The TAJ Rooftop and Lounge is open daily from 6:00 p.m. to midnight, with extended hours on Fridays and Saturdays. On Sundays, brunch service is available from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm.
