This natural balcony is located at the end of a narrow valley that cuts through and hangs over the abyss of La Caldera de Taburiente, an imposing natural basin of six and a half kilometers in diameter open in the center of the island of La Palma. The views of this immense valley and its dozens of pine-covered ravines are unforgettable. Located within the National Park, from the Mirador de La Cumbrecita a circular route of 3.4 km starts between the Mirador de los Roques and the Mirador Pozo de las Chozas.

Roque de los Muchachos viewpoint

The Roque de los Muchachos viewpoint is at the top of the island of La Palma, one of the places in the world with the best sky for astronomical observation. At its feet there is an impressive view of a gigantic volcanic caldera 1 500 meters deep covered with trees, with volcanic rocks of capricious shapes and declared National Park, the aforementioned Caldera de Taburiente. From this viewpoint you can see the valley of Aridane, famous for the cultivation of bananas, and the ravine of Las Angustias. This watchtower located almost 700 meters above sea level is on the LP-1 road, between the towns of Los Llanos de Aridane and Puntagorda. Izcagua Viewpoint

Visiting this viewpoint is a unique experience. Through its huge glass windows, visitors can contemplate extraordinary panoramic views that offer the sensation of flying over the Izcagua ravine. This peculiar viewpoint is located in Puntagorda, in the northwest of La Palma, near the popular Farmer's Market and the recreational area El Fayal, highly recommended stops if you visit this area of the island. An ideal place to contemplate almond trees and vineyards and enjoy the magnificent rural landscapes that characterize the geography of La Palma.
